Like most youngsters, I had my own list of ‘things to love’ when I was younger. I found that I kept to this list as I grew up, looking for these things that I deemed important, to make my life full, and meaningful, and happy. And like this childhood list, I have one of Mexico that I created when I first visited, and that I’ve kept close for the time when I would be able to settle there.

Let me share that list:

1. I love the culture as a whole. I love how so much history lives at the same time as so much modernity. The Aztec ruins are a stone’s throw away from some of the more Industrial buildings. Old, cobblestone sidewalks frame modern cemented roads. Rustic architecture houses internet connections and cable TV.

2. I love how there is so much variety in food. I love the vibrant markets, with sweet, big, tropical fruit, I love the fresh vegetables. I love chili!

3. I love how you can have desert, mountain, beach, and lake all in one place. I love how, because of this, you can choose the kind of getaway you want to experience.

4. I love how the local folk embody “the Latin way”. I love how a lot of what colors their personalities are not based on what you can see or touch. This kind of spirituality, I find, enriches one’s soul.

5. Finally, I love how the country holds both a wealth of possibility for enjoyment and the promise of peace and happiness.

It is because of this list that I have never forgotten Mexico. It is because of this love that I have chosen Mexico as the place I want to live in from now on. And I would dare say that for those who doubt Mexico’s charm, come and visit. You will certainly fall in love with the country, as I have.

After years of hard work and saving money it is not unforeseen for one to plan a move to a place where one can enjoy the succeeding years in rest, quiet, and relaxation. The search for this place need not be difficult. It is just a matter of considering those qualifications you consider the most important when looking for a new home.

When I think about my retirement, I think of opposite spectrums. A place that would have the opportunity to have wonderful, exciting parties, at the same time, offer some peace and quiet; And what better place to find this than in Mexico?

Known for the mariachi, Mercado’s, and its legendary siesta, Mexico offers the retiree both the chance to still have fun and then retire to slumber. Days can be filled with attending local fiestas, participating in community activities like church parties and plays, shopping in the local market; while nights can be filled with quiet peace, tequila, and rest. The climate in Mexico is conducive to those who do not enjoy harsh winters or stifling heat. And what is best is that the locals are known to be friendly and accommodating, making Mexico a favorite town for retirees.

So when I think about that time when I will be able to kick of my work shoes and slip on my sandals, the place I have in mind is Mexico! I know that I will surely find the right way of life and community to live my retirement years.

When I think of home, I think usually of love and laughter and heart. When I think of these three things in turn, I always associate them with color. Home then to me is often a painting in varying shades of bright colors and hues, connected to images of the heart. When thinking of a place to settle then I always think about how the colors and pictures of that place match my desires for my life. And when one thinks or considers Mexico as a place to live- there is only one picture that flashes instantly- its famous Mercados.

One thing that would truly convince me that Mexico is a place I can live happily and vibrantly is the presence of such wonderful markets. Why is this so? At the heart of the city, lies the city’s heart. The Mexican market contains everything from food to art, crafts, pottery, clothing and the like. For the discerning person, judging a community is best done by looking at how its center operates and lives. And if one were to judge Mexico by its markets, one would truly be in for a full life. More than what the market sells though is what it stands for. For those thinking of living in Mexico, the traditional markets represent a new and exciting life, full of creativity, tradition, and culture all rolled into one.

So for those who look at the pulse of a community, for those who can distinguish the local ports as the lifeblood of a town, and use what is found here as the basis for a new life, will not be disappointed in making Mexico their new home.

For those who have been to Mexico, retirement there can be the realization of a life-long dream. Those who dream this dream know that, in Mexico, you can enjoy great climate, great food, a rich culture, and fabulously friendly people.

For a lot of people who have retired there, integration in Mexican communities makes the experience more worthwhile and more fulfilling. Plus, it adds dimension to years already lived, and experiences already experienced.
A lot of retirees find hobbies they never imagined they would be doing. A lot tap into long hidden artistic talent by trying new forms of art, learning how to paint, take pictures of the beautiful landscapes, or just write about the wonders of their new home. Internet has long made every part of the world as close as your next door neighbor, and this is no different in Mexico. Some who settle in Mexico find it the perfect time to learn a new language. The beauty of the Spanish language is easily absorbed when interacting with the friendly Mexicans. Finally, for the sports enthusiast, Mexico is home to soccer and other sports. Retirees find that they now channel their inner Beckham’s and Ronaldo’s.

There is also room for the civic-minded in Mexico, even for a retiree. Deprived communities welcome volunteerism and help in improving infrastructure and education. Even sharing life experiences is welcome.

There is a lot to do and see and experience in Mexico. You will always find somet6hing to suit your taste and needs. This makes retiring here seems a natural choice for someone who wants to live life a little differently but still in the best way possible.

What better place to visit this little piece of vacation fun-time than exploring the land of Mexico

Arguably the travel junkie’s favorite destination, Mexico has a wide range of activities and attractions that will surely fit any person’s vacation objective. From beautiful sand beaches, to lakeside reports, one is sure to find a venue that will fit any whim.

What can one expect on a Mexican escape? This will depend on what you want to experience.
For one, going to the 1300-year-old Maya palace at Palenque is sure to get your adrenaline started. As you listen to the screeching parrots and growling howler monkeys growl in the sweaty emerald jungle around you, you will surely feel right in the middle of a fantastic safari adventure. Or how about kayaking at dawn past a colony of Baja California sea lions? If you want a more laid-back vacation, you can choose between a palm-fringed sandy beach and the warm, turquoise waves of the Pacific in Puerto Vallarta. You can also experience the cosmopolitan life while dining on salmon enchiladas and chrysanthemum salad at one of Mexico City’s popular fusion restaurants. You can choose to spend the night dancing away at one of the many high-energy clubs in Mazatlan.

Every traveler leaves Mexico with a unique and different experience but all agree that it is definitely the place to go for a fantastic escape!
